THE FIRST ENGLISH EVANGELICAL LUTHERAN CHURCH has served downtown Pittsburgh since its founding in 1837 as the First English-speaking Lutheran church west of the Alleghenies. Its members come from far and near to participate in its Christian witness in the heart of the city: a witness that is faithful to Holy Scripture and to the historic Lutheran Confessions. The Gospel of Jesus Christ is at the center of its life, providing direction, comfort, and hope. WE WELCOME all who worship with us.
